At ESS Security Ltd, we provide Access Control Systems to businesses and residential private properties. Access control essentially provides a method of electronically restricting access to properties, premises, or sensitive areas; internal or external, by way of electronic locks, barriers, and raising barricades.
Control being by way of; card readers (magnetic or infrared), proximity tokens and or biometrics (fingerprint or iris recognition), audio or visual.
A very typical everyday use for access control is where a number of tenants within a block of flats use a common entrance. Similarly, any visitors wishing to gain access would use the same entrance.
The user arrives at the locked entrance door and an electronic token is presented to the reader for validation. Validation is accepted, the electric lock releases for a predetermined period of time (typically 5-10 seconds) allowing access. When a visitor arrives at the locked door, they would call the appropriate flat from the door station, the occupant of the flat called would verify the visitor from the video station within their flat from where access can be granted, simply pushing a button to release the access door.
